Perseverance still trumps talent

I was going to write a post about how sticking to something and continuously working on a skill will get you further ahead than someone who has “talent” but doesn’t work at it.  I got a déjà vu feeling and did a quick search.  I wrote about it 8 years ago!

I still think it holds true.  It’s the person who does the consistent, steady work that eventually gets good.  And if they keep it up, they will get better than the ones who have more “talent” or skill but don’t work at it.

Skill is about showing up and doing the work.  It’s simple.  It isn’t easy, mind you.  But it is simple.

Here’s a link to that original post.
