Yesterday, I made a thing. A reel, actually. A short video.
And it wasn’t for a play I’m in. Or for a concert I’m promoting.
It was just a message about creativity. You can check it out here.
I’ll confess. It was an exercise for video bootcamp that I’m taking.
But I did it.
I shot it, edited it, and posted it all within an hour.
The hardest part?
Posting it.
Releasing it.
Letting it out into the world.
I’m used to posting blogs. And doing promos for shows. But creating this short video really felt scary.
It felt vulnerable.
I felt vulnerable.
Like singing sometimes makes me feel.
If I wasn’t doing this bootcamp, I might not have posted the video. I might not have made it.
How many bits of art stay hidden in our minds because we’re scared?
But it’s pushing through that scary bit that helps us grow.
Helps us stretch past who we are into who we can be.
What’s something you’ve been putting off because it scares you?
