Weight Loss Wonder

You know, sometimes I don’t get it.

Weight loss, I mean.

I weigh myself every day.  So, I see the ups and downs.

And usually, I can see a gain and know where that came from?

My weight went up?  Oh, yeah, I ate a medium pizza by myself.

My weight went down? Oh, yeah, I was fasting for two days.

But it’s those times where you eat a bag of chips late at night.

And your weight goes down!

No, Deb, I didn’t eat a bag of chips.  Last night.

But yesterday, I finished a fast and weighed myself.  (197lbs, if you must know.)

And then I had dinner and went to choir.

When we got home, I had a snack.

(And then another one.  Shh.  Don’t tell Deb)

When I weighed myself this morning, I was still at 197lbs!

What the flibbity flabbity fling is going on?

Snacking late at night is not a weight loss strategy.

But it is one of those crazy things…  Sometimes eating badly doesn’t make you gain weight.

Unfortunately, my weight gains and losses for most of the month make sense.

And January is looking to be another “step back” month.

Step back meaning weight gain.

I’m getting back on track, but the holidays do upset the routine a lot.

For the most part, I can make progress by following the logical steps of watching when I eat and what I eat.

It’s always crazy to see a little weight loss when I know that I’ve been “bad”, though.
