I love Teen Burgers from A&W.

Not only are they delicious, but they give me jolt of nostalgia.

When I was little, my mother would give us some money and we’d go to A&W for lunch.

Or dinner.

Me and my siblings. Five of us.

Sometimes my cousins Mark and Paul would be there, too.

And I always got a Teen Burger.

Fries and root beer, too. 

But it was the Teen Burger that I loved.

That I craved.

I have the A&W app on my phone.

(Shh.  Don’t tell Deb…)

Sometimes they have specials that you can only get on the app.

And A&W’s current special is causing me all sorts of dilemmas!

Should I get a Teen Burger or fast until dinner?

Should I get a Teen Burger or eat my lunch?

What is the A&W special, you might ask?

Every day the Maple Leafs play a hockey game, there’s a special price for a Teen Burger.

It’s only $4!!

A Teen Burger usually costs $8.79.

I mean, you’re losing money if you don’t buy one, right?

And who knew that the Maple Leafs play hockey so often???

Yes, I have succumbed to the siren call of inexpensive Teen Burgers.

I have resisted the summoning to feast more often, though.

But who knew that I would have to resist it so frequently?

I stupidly enabled notifications from A&W on my phone.

So, for the last couple of months, I’ve been having to decide to get a Teen Burger or NOT to get a Teen Burger.

What a painful decision to make…

And I don’t follow hockey, so I have no idea how long the season will last.

But I know it’s a long time.

Yes, I could turn off the notifications from A&W.

It would be the smart thing to do.

But you never know when you’re going to want a $4 Teen Burger…

So, I think I’ll tough it out and try to resist the temptations while I can.
