September 2024 Mile Marker

After four months of going down, my average weight went back up in September. My average weight was 202.3lbs. Up half a pound from last month.

Not a huge slip.

But a slight step in the wrong direction.

Two steps forward, one step backward.

Lowest weight of the month was 198lbs. Heaviest weight was 207.6lbs.

This month, I added a visual on my weight spreadsheet.

Days where my weight goes up, get highlighted in orange.

It’s easy to see some of the patterns that way.

On average, I gain weight on Saturdays and Mondays.

Which tells me that I start my Splurge on Friday night. Doh!

Hence the weight gain on Saturday.

My weight on Sunday goes down because I usually go for a long run.  Which burns up some of Saturday’s weight gain.

And Monday is up because of the feasting on Sunday.

On a typical week, I gain weight for two days and lose weight for five days.

Which makes sense since I time restrict my eating during the work week.

This month however, there was a chunk in the middle where I went off the rails.

The splurge started earlier that week, and I didn’t go for a run on that Sunday.

Oh well.

I’m still committed to the slow and steady process.

Seeing the pattern on the spreadsheet will help.

Snacking at night is still an issue.  If I could work on that I would not see so much weight gain on Saturday.

So, that will be my October task: try to curb late night snacking on Friday nights.
