I went for my first run last Sunday. It was two weeks after the Around the Bay race.
I took it nice and easy. Four kilometers. Slow pace.
I’ll probably run twice this week. And slowly get back into the swing of things.
I haven’t picked another race to train for. But I want to stay active.
I’m gaining weight.
Partly influenced by the lack of running.
Partly because I’m still not doing the things I know I should do.
Go to bed before 11pm.
Stop snacking after 8pm.
Watch less TV.
We’re only a third of the way through the month, but I’m already averaging three pounds heavier than last month. Doh!
I expected the break from running to have an impact.
But I don’t have to run to lose weight. Or to maintain my weight.
I must be more mindful.
I must do the things I know I should do.
It’s simple. But why is it so hard to do?
