Sleep Weight

You know how you know something is bad for you, but you do it anyway?

I’ve read about the relationship between lack of sleep and weight gain. I’ve experienced weight gain from lack of sleep.

When I’m tired, I eat more. I go to bed late and don’t get enough sleep. And the cycle continues. I’m tired during the day. Then I crave salty snacks and sugary snacks. Processed foods beckon…

And when I’m tired, I have no will power.

I know this.

And yet, I still find myself in cycles of staying up later than I should.

We’re halfway through the month and I can see my average weight going back up. After a slight weight loss at the beginning of the month.

Mostly because I’m going to bed late.

There’s still time to turn it around. I can still make February a weight loss month, instead of a weight gain one.

But I’ve got to break the cycle of late nights.

I’ve got to get to sleep earlier.

Writing these posts is contributing to the late nights. I’m writing them in the evening. Sometimes late in the evening.

I’ve got to write them written earlier in the day. Or get a buffer of a couple of posts written ahead of time.

Then I can get to bed on time without worrying about finishing the day’s post.

Let’s see how the rest of the month plays out…
