Working the Song

Yesterday,  Vocal Point,  the choir that I belong to,  had a workshop.

It was wonderful.  On a few levels.

First,  since it was on a Saturday,  instead of a Tuesday,  I was able to go to it.

I’ve only been able to go to one choir rehearsal since February.  Because my play rehearsals are on the same day.

Second,  it was fantastic to see my choir folks.  It’s nice being around those lovely people.

Third, we got to learn some fun choreography for one of our songs.  Now,  it’s choir choreography,  so it isn’t crazy movements or anything. But it will make that song fun to watch. I can hardly wait to perform it in front of an audience!

And fourth,  we got to do some vocal work on some of our other songs with a guest teacher. It’s fascinating to see how a different director can help improve with a few suggestions.

Tania,  our director is awesome.  But it is also neat to see how a different  director works.  We got the best of both worlds.

There was also enough social time to visit with everyone.

It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday!
