The Life We Got

This is a companion to yesterday’s post.

Sometimes we need to acknowledge that Life isn’t fair.

But we should try not to wallow in it too much.

No one is going to come around and fix it for us.

I’m not trying to diminish anyone’s pain or anguish.

In the end we need to ask for help or help ourselves.

There’s a dog that I see in the park, every now and then.

Timmy.

Timmy is a beautiful looking dog.

Happy, friendly, and gentle.

Timmy only has three legs.

I feel sorry for Timmy.

But I don’t think Timmy feels sorry for himself.

He does the things he can do.

He just knows that he can’t do everything other dogs can do.

I don’t think he frets about it too much.

Sometimes we can get lost in the unfairness of life.

But that unfairness isn’t going to magically go away.

If it’s something that can change, we need to work towards that change.

If it’s something that can’t change, we need to accept it and move on.

Adjust our sails.

It’s not about being complacent.

It’s about trying not to be crushed by the things outside your control.
