It’s Not Fair

Life’s not fair.

So many people out there are dealing with hard things.

Illness.

Grief.

Loss.

Financial hardships.

Isolation.

Loneliness.

War.

Racism.

My gosh, the list goes on.

I’ve had some bumps in life, but nothing compared to what many people have to bear.

We want to believe that there is some sort of balance.

Karma, right?

And maybe there is.

But most of us don’t have the perspective to see the big picture.

Or the years to see when things will change for the better.

We can only see what’s in front of us.

And there’s a ton of suffering out there.

I don’t know what the answer is.

But it’s important to acknowledge that life isn’t fair.

And many of us are plain lucky.

Lucky to be born at a certain time.

Or in a certain place.

Or to certain people.

We could have just as easily been unlucky in our time or place or family of birth.

Or unlucky down the road.

It’s not fair.
