The Night Before ATB 2025

It’s the night before the big race.

30 kilometers. Or 18.64 miles.

I haven’t trained as much as I planned, but I trained more than last year.

I’m going to bed early.

I’ve got my running equipment ready.

I’ve got my mental state prepared.

Tara and Dan will be running the race as well.

We’ll get there together but I don’t expect to see much of them.

The young whippersnappers will probably finish an hour or more before me.

But we’ll be able to share the accomplishment of running 30 kilometers.

And celebrate with some feasting.

For me, it’s never about the time.

It’s being able to go the distance.

To challenge myself.

It would be nice if I can beat last year’s time.

But I’ll be happy just finishing the race.

It’s been a journey to get here.

I’ve been running consistently since the Fall.

And no matter how tomorrow turns out, I will have won my race.
