TV Taming

It’s that time again.

I’ve got to curb my TV watching so that I can get other things done.

At least, I need to curb it during the week.

I don’t smoke.

I don’t do drugs.

And I don’t drink to excess.

But… I watch a heck of a lot of TV.

It keeps me away from working on my lines.

From learning my songs for choir.

From working on my playwriting.

And from reading plays and books.

Not only does it waste a lot of my time, but I tend to stay up late watching it.

So, I don’t get enough sleep.

And I snack in front of the TV.

So, I undo a lot of the good work that intermittent fasting is doing.

Watching TV is so bad for me.

For the things that I want to do.

And once I start watching, it’s hard for me to stop.

The key is not to start watching TV.

And for the last few shows, I’ve been able to restrict my TV watching.

I keep thinking that I won’t need to.

But I always need to.

Sigh.

Let the TV diet begin.

No TV during the week until I’ve learned my lines.

And I’ve learned my songs.
