Keaton and Kate couldn’t come home for Christmas. They postponed their visit until February.

This would be our first chance to see the newly married couple.

The first leg of their trip was with us.

And it was a whirlwind.

First, their flight got delayed. They got in just after midnight on Friday morning.

When we got home from the airport, we chatted briefly and then it was off to bed.

Because in the morning, we were heading to Ottawa to visit Caileigh and Chris.

The trip passed quickly and we arrived in Ottawa between snowstorms.

Snow piled high and very little parking available on the streets.

It reminded me of the snowstorms of my youth.

And all kinds of street closures because a water main had broken. Lots of fun.

But I managed to snag some street parking around the corner. Score!

Caileigh and Chris live near the place that they had chosen for us to eat at. We trudged there, single file. It was only a couple of blocks away to Ceylonta, a Sri Lankan restaurant. The meal was fantastic!

Then we marched back single file along the unplowed sidewalks.

Some drinks and chats followed.

Enjoying each other’s company.

Chris had gotten back from a business trip to Vienna. Keaton and Kate had been travelling for most of the last 24 hours. So, we went to bed early.

Tara and Dan would be joining us on Saturday and then the whole gang would be together.

I only realized the next day that I hadn’t taken any photos.

Oh, well. I would remedy that on Saturday.
