Yesterday, our choir sang for a senior’s residence again.
We were back at Caroline Place Retirement Residence for a second time.
We played all the songs that we’ll be singing in our Sleighing It concert, instead of only a selection.
I’m still working on my lyrics to get “off book”, so I was holding onto my music.
I noticed something funny, though.
There are a few songs that I’m still memorizing.
I can’t sing them on my own without looking at the lyrics.
But I could sing them with the choir.
With my fellow basses.
It’s as if the lyrics popped into my head a millisecond before I had to sing them.
I had my music, but I didn’t need to look at it all the time.
Without the rest of the choir, I’m struggling.
With them, I can sing along.
I’ll still work on those songs.
But it’s interesting to get caught up in the music and sing.
If you’re in the Hamilton area this weekend, we’ve got two performances. Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7.
