They say we shouldn’t “sweat the small stuff”.
And it’s true. When it comes to worrying about things that don’t matter. In the big picture of our lives.
You’re worrying about something? Will it matter in a month? In a year? In five years? If not, don’t worry about it.
Worrying about small things can take up mental real estate that it has no reason to occupy.
But…
It’s also the little things that can move us towards the bigger things.
Small tasks build up to big goals.
In my case, writing daily helps build a body of work.
My running a few times a week builds a base. That prepares me for longer runs like The Around the Bay race.
Doing my morning routine, helps me focus my morning. Which helps me focus my day.
When I have an unproductive day, I have almost always missed out on my morning prep.
So, don’t sweat the little things.
But, do the IMPORTANT little things.
The little things that move you forward.
