Another Iron in the Fire

I was intending to submit something to the Hamilton Fringe Playwriting Contest.

I had missed the deadline, but it got extended a week.

I found an older project that had fizzled out, but I thought I could submit it with a little tweaking.

You’d think I would have taken full advantage of the extra time I had…

Or maybe you know me too well…

Of course, I was scrambling to do those tweaks on the day of the deadline.

I got it submitted on time.

Yay!

The exercise isn’t to win the contest.

It’s to get back into the habit of making submissions.

Of getting my work out there.

Of showing my work.

It’s been a few years since I sent out something I wrote.

It’s been a few years since having something to send out.

It’s been a while getting myself unblocked and moving forward.

And there will be more back and forth movement.

But sending out a writing submission is a good push on the flywheel.

Or putting another iron in the fire.

And now it’s back to work on my current project.
