We opened The Game’s Afoot last night!
There’s something about performing a show in front of an audience that never gets old.
And it helps so much in validating the effort we spend during the rehearsal process.
Does this thing work? Is this funny?
And of course, there’s the alchemy that an audience helps create when added to the performance.
Most importantly, we know that we can do it.
Were there hiccups? Of course.
There are almost always slight bumps and detours made when performing live.
The fun is righting the ship.
Helping steer things back on course.
Or accepting help from your fellow performers to get you back on track.
I don’t usually get nervous before a show. Last night was no different.
But I was curious to see how things would be when we had folks watching us.
Comedies are so much fun because you usually get immediate feedback.
What’s working and what isn’t.
It can be horrible, though, if the audience doesn’t find them funny.
And last night’s audience giggled at glances between the actors, as well as the funny lines and antics.
Phew!
We’re back on tonight.
Second nights of a show can be a letdown. Because you don’t have the same adrenaline rush.
But this show is so fun to perform. I’m looking forward to it.
The show’s afoot!!

coming tonight!!
