There’s something about sitting on the dock of my cousin’s cottage and looking out at the lake.
In the morning.
Before the busy-ness of the day begins.
It’s quiet.
You can hear some birds. Some bugs.
But mostly, you hear the stillness.
It’s peaceful.
Glorious.
Calming.
I want to soak it in.
To bottle it up and take it with me.
Ah, to be able to uncork that feeling when life gets stressful and crazy…
It’s a gift of serenity.
The green trees. The still lake. The blue sky with a sprinkling of white clouds.
Blissful.
You can’t force it.
You can only enjoy it while it’s there.
