Audition Afterthoughts

I was busy the day I went to the audition.

I donated blood. And had to head straight to the audition to get there just after 7pm.

No time for dinner. Fortunately, I had a big lunch.

I had to leave the audition early, also. I had a line run at 8:30.

Both the donation and the line run were scheduled before I knew I was auditioning.

And Wednesday was the only day I could go to the audition.

But the audition is done.

And although I was scrambling to get there. And scrambling to get out of there.

I think it went well.

That doesn’t mean that I got cast. I have no control over that.

But I was happy with what I did.

I had the extra bonus of seeing a bunch of folks that I’ve worked with before. And they seemed glad to see me.

So, even if I don’t get the part, I have that good feeling to wrap myself in. That’s what I’ll remember from the audition.

It was fun.

I felt appreciated.

It’s all good.

There were a lot of talented folks out there.

So, I don’t envy the director having to make the hard decisions. But it’s always nicer to have lots to pick from than to have not enough.

Performances for Burn are this weekend and next. So, I don’t have time to fret about whether I get cast or not in The Game’s Afoot.

And I try not to fret about these things any way. Like I said, I have no control over it.

If it turns out that I’m not cast, there’s always another show to audition for later.

  1. I’m disappointed – I wanted to go and audition for that show and completely forgot! I hope you get cast. Coming to see Burn on Sat June 15. See you then!
