I recall reading somewhere that people prefer easy things over simple things.
Makes sense.
The problem is that easy things, tend to be complicated in execution.
Simple things are frequently hard or difficult to execute.
Take weight loss.
The easy way is to try the new diet. Or a weight loss pill. Or a specialized exercise.
Easy but usually complex.
The simple way is to eat healthily. Get enough sleep. And exercise regularly. Cardio and weight resistance.
But simple is hard. It takes work.
Let’s face it. Looking for the easy way isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
If we didn’t search for the “easy”, we wouldn’t have running water or electricity. We wouldn’t have most of our technological advances.
But sometimes, we’ve got to knuckle down and do the simple things.
Do the work.
Put in the time.
Be consistent.
The trick is to be open to the easy. But when in doubt, go for the simple.
