The problem with writing a play is that you have to write the play.

The writing is the sucky part.

Or it is for a lot of people.

It is for me, sometimes.

It’s like exercise. I don’t like exercising, but I like having exercised.

It’s great when I’ve done the writing. When I’m finished. But it takes a lot of energy to get me started writing.

It’s the old process vs product mentality.

I must keep reminding myself that the goal isn’t to write a play. The goal is to write.

Writing isn’t the sucky thing.

Writing is the thing.
