Missing the Peak

During the mid-morning. Right around 10am. That’s the sweet spot.

That’s when my motivation is high. And my creativity is at my peak.

It’s the perfect time to write.

But I’m always at work at that time.

So, I rarely get to take advantage of the best time for me to write or be creative.

I’ll make notes, occasionally. But it’s not the same coming back to something hours after the inspiration has faded.

It’s the nature of the beast. My job is nine to five and so that’s the way it goes.

Sometimes I wonder: What if I was able to write during the week at the best time for me?

Would it stop being the best time? Would I find myself inspired at a different “inconvenient” time?

Is part of the inspiration fueled because I’m occupied doing something else?

Would freeing up that time break the motivation and creativity?

I don’t know.

But I do know that constraints lead to creativity.

You need a “box” to be able to think outside of the box.

Instead of wishing to have my time free up, I should get better at finding breaks. To take advantage of inspiration when it strikes.
