The Player’s Guild is putting on a Mother’s Day show. It’s called Listen to Your Mother. And will be performed a few times on Mother’s Day weekend.
Deb is going to be reading a modified version of our toast for Caileigh and Chris’ wedding.
And I will write something else. About mothers. Or a mother.
It may get read, as well.
The main thing is that I will be writing something. And soon!
And…
My friend Jen sent me a link to the Dramatist’s Guild “End of Play”. Apparently, April is National Playwriting and Composing Month. End of Play is like NaNoWriMo for playwrights.
You start writing a play on April 1 and you finish your draft by April 30.
Originally, I wasn’t going to do it. But the woo woo factor indicates that I try it.
I’ve got a couple of weeks to let some ideas percolate.
Worst case scenario: I do a bunch of writing that I can’t use. But it’s good practice.
Best case scenario: I get a first draft done for a new project.
It’s all good.
So, that’s a couple of writing projects coming up.
Nothing like a deadline to help with the motivation.
