I was not planning to go to Choir! Choir! Choir!
Deb had bought tickets a while ago. It sounded like fun, but I passed on the opportunity.
I’m already in a choir.
And I didn’t feel like it.
Two guys coaxing the audience to sing along with them?
But someone couldn’t go, so I was the fill-in to make sure the ticket wasn’t wasted.
And what a great evening it turned out to be!
So much fun.
Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman know how to engage with their audience and get them involved.
We were all standing and singing for almost the whole show. Belting out tunes in a Karaoke-like extravaganza!
They have various shows dedicated to a type of music. Last night’s show was “Epic 80’s Sing-Along”.
The evening was the perfect antidote to the ennui I was feeling in my previous post.
We should all sing Epic 80’s tunes to each other!
The show embodied the things that I love about singing in a choir. The singing in unison. Being part of a greater whole. Getting carried away with the energy of the music.
And the great thing is that the audience is part of the performance. The audience gets to experience the joy of singing.
If you get a chance to experience Choir! Choir! Choir! I highly recommend it. You can check out the Choir! Choir! Choir! website to see if/when they’ll be coming somewhere near you.
