Negative Bias

Looking out for the bad things in life was a critical skill for our ancestors.

People who couldn’t find the danger lurking behind the corner didn’t last long.

It’s why most of us have a negative bias.

It’s instinct.

But it also causes so much strife.

People see danger where there is no danger.

Or politicians manufacture it. And their followers believe it.

We need to be alert to dangers around us.

But what would the world look like if our first instinct was to look for the good instead of the bad?
