Fighting Entropy

Sometimes you just want to take a break.

A break from the routine.

A break from the habit you’re trying to cultivate.

To rest.

But if you stop pumping. If you stop pushing the flywheel. If you stop your forward momentum…

You might find yourself having to start all over again.

One of my favourite sayings is: The only time you can coast is when you’re going downhill.

That’s not to say that you have to always be going full tilt. Most things will let you take a break for a bit.

You can miss a training day or two. You can indulge in an unhealthy meal or two.

But get back to your routine as soon as possible.

Taking a break. A small break. Is normal.

Don’t beat yourself up.

But get back to the routine as soon as you can.

Don’t let a small break turn into a downward detour.
