Is this my year to ship? To ship regularly?
I bought myself the Seth Godin Ship It desk calendar. In the hopes that it would inspire me to be more productive.
Yesterday’s entry had a QR code that opened to an interview that Seth had with Marie Forleo a few years ago. I had seen it before, but it was still relevant today.
One of the things he spoke about was blogging. Seth blogs every day. And has done so for decades.
He recommends that everyone do it. If for no other reason than to have a creative practice where you articulate your thoughts.
I’ve tried blogging for 30 days. A few times. I’ve even tried blogging for 90 days.
After watching Seth’s interview, I noticed an unread email from WordPress. It had my blog stats for 2023.
I only made 16 posts last year. And the year before that I posted even less.
And I haven’t done any playwriting for a while.
It’s the same old song.
It isn’t that I don’t have anything to write about. It feels like it takes so much energy to do the writing.
I’m out of shape. Physically and creatively.
Like Sisyphus, it’s time to pick myself up and start the task over again. But this time, I’m going to try to roll the stone up the hill for a year.
A year of blog posts.
A year of shipping.
365 posts. And the first one is done.
