Eat Harder Foods to Lose Weight

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s newsletter had an item about the science of Overeating. Apparently, the texture of your food can cause you to eat more.

Softer foods resulted in overeating. In fact, people were likely to eat more softer textured and less-processed foods. Than eating more-processed foods that had a harder texture.

Which is unusual because people tend to eat more when eating processed foods. Processed foods are designed for you to eat more of them.

When comparing food of the same texture, that is.

If you eat harder foods, you may end up consuming less calories per day. Hundreds of calories less! Than if you eat softer foods.

It’s possible that part of the reason is that softer foods get consumed more quickly. So, you can keep eating before your body tells you that you’re full.

If you eat harder foods, they take longer to chew. And it slows down your consumption. So, you get the signals that you are full sooner.

And then you eat less.

Another recommendation in the newsletter was to take 20 minutes to eat your meal. That will also give your body time to send the fullness signals.

Eat harder foods and take your time eating them. To help prevent yourself from overeating.
