Whooping it up!

Yesterday, I was lamenting that there wasn’t a tool for me to stay on course with my goals.

I wanted a goal-ometer or something to help me stay on track.

Cue the woo woo music.

This morning, I got an email. And it mentioned the WOOP process for achieving goals.

The what?

WOOP.

It’s an acronym. It stands for:

Wish

Outcome

Obstacle

Plan

You set a goal. That’s your Wish.

You visualize the best Outcome of meeting your goal. What does it look like? Take a few moments to really see it and feel it.

Now, what’s stopping you from reaching those goals? What are your Obstacles to success? Visualize them, also.

Now, you come up with a Plan to respond to those obstacles. Again, take a moment to see an obstacle and find a way to overcome it.

Make it an If…Then statement.

For example: If I want to snack in the evening, I will drink a glass of water first.

I’m going to look at some of these goals of mine and see if I can WOOP them up!

It gives new meaning to the saying, “Making Whoopee!”
